This compressor is actually described as a part that wears in rather than wearing out, improving its operation as it ages.
Refrigerant: Go Green!
Schneider Heating & Cooling, Inc. desires to give its customers the most environmental and economical deal. That is why there is no price difference between the earth-friendly R-410A units and the ozone depleting R-22 units. As the cost for R-22 increases (an estimated 41% in the past two years), it would be in the interest of all to make the switch to the earth-friendly R-410A. Units that Use Earth-Friendly R-410A Refrigerant
These units come with the earth-friendly R-410A refrigerant. While containing the
same features as the models using the old R-22 refrigerant, their selling points are both environmental and financial. As the cost for R-22 rises, future service work done on your unit that would require replacing the refrigerant will end up costing you more.
Weather King AJL Series: 13 SEER This unit’s cube shape enables it to fit in virtually any location. The main difference in this unit and the Rheem/Ruud unit is this one features the new Benchmark Bristol reciprocating compressor. Sound tests have rated this compressor to be quieter than the Copeland scroll compressor that is featured in the Rheem/Ruud units.
Rheem/Ruud UANL Series: 13 SEER These units are designed to protect the condenser coils from denting, the fan from damaging the motor, and the unit from corroding on the bottom from moisture. Service time is also decreased by ease of access.

Rheem/Ruud UARL Series: 16 SEER A two-stage model that features the Comfort Control System. The two-stage compressor will take advantage of the staging options on your furnace to cool your home at either low or high speed. The low-speed energy saving feature reduces forceful, cold drafts and humidity, keeping your house at a cool even temperature. This is an air conditioner that will actually work harder to cool your house when you lower the temperature, by switching to the higher speed.
Rheem/Ruud UASL Series: 18 SEER A two-stage model that features the Comfort Control System. See the note above to learn more about the benefits of the two-stage feature.Effective January 1, 2010, manufacturers may no longer produce equipment that use the ozone depleting R-22 refrigerant.
Units that Use Ozone Depleting R-22 Refrigerant
The following air conditioners are known for being both reliable and quiet. Each comes with a five-year parts warranty and, depending on the model, the compressor warranty ranges from five to ten years standard. These are designed in such a way as to protect them from damage from hail, corrosion, and more.
Weather King 13AJA Series: 13 SEER This is one of our top sellers. Its cube shape enables it to fit in virtually any location. The main difference in this unit and the Rheem/Ruud unit is this one features the new Benchmark Bristol reciprocating compressor. Sound tests have rated this compressor to be quieter than the Copeland scroll compressor that is featured in the Rheem/Ruud units.
Rheem/Ruud UAND Series: 13 SEER The main difference between the Rheem/Ruud units and the Weather King is its shape and compressor. This unit is rectangular. The other benefits such as quiet operation, protective cover, and low corrosion are the same.
